Watson-Marlow to showcase advanced dosing pump solutions at Water Equipment Show 2026

Listen to this article

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS), a global leader in peristaltic pumps and associated fluid path technologies, will present its latest chemical metering and heavy duty hose pump solutions at the Water Equipment Show (WES) 2026. The event will take place at the Telford International Centre in the UK on 14 May, bringing together professionals from across the water and wastewater sector.

Visitors to stand F107-108 will have the opportunity to explore how WMFTS’ precision engineered peristaltic pump technologies are helping organisations improve sustainability, increase operational efficiency and meet increasingly stringent environmental requirements. With growing regulatory pressure across the UK water industry, the demand for reliable, low maintenance and accurate dosing systems continues to rise.

Advanced chemical dosing with Qdos pumps

On display will be the Qdos® range of chemical metering and dosing pumps, designed to deliver reliable, accurate and cost effective performance across a wide range of water treatment applications. These pumps offer flow rates from 0.1 mL/min to 600 L/hr, including the high flow Qdos H-FLO variant, making them suitable for everything from small scale dosing to large industrial processes.

A key advantage of the Qdos range is the elimination of ancillary equipment such as valves, pulsation dampeners and degassing systems. This simplifies installation and reduces both capital expenditure and ongoing maintenance requirements. With an accuracy of ±1% and repeatability of ±0.5%, operators benefit from highly consistent chemical dosing, which in turn reduces chemical waste, lowers operating costs and helps minimise emissions associated with chemical handling and transport.

For UK water companies and treatment facilities focused on efficiency and compliance, these features provide a strong foundation for improving both environmental performance and cost control.

Robust hose pump solutions for demanding applications

WMFTS will also highlight its Bredel hose pumps, which are engineered to handle abrasive sludge, paste and slurries with 100% volumetric accuracy. Designed for demanding environments, these pumps can achieve flow rates of up to 108 m³/hr at pressures of up to 16 bar, while handling slurries with a solids mass concentration of up to 80%.

The APEX™ hose pump from Bredel will also be showcased as a robust solution for chemically aggressive and abrasive applications up to 8 bar. Its high flow capability reduces wear on the precision-machined hose element, resulting in extended service intervals and improved reliability over time. Maintenance is straightforward, requiring only a quick in-place hose change, which significantly reduces downtime and supports continuous operation in critical processes.

These features make Bredel and APEX pumps particularly well suited to UK wastewater treatment plants, sludge handling operations and industrial processing environments where reliability is essential.

Expert insights on the future of water equipment

In addition to the product showcase, Gavin MacGregor, Account Manager at Watson-Marlow, will deliver a presentation titled “Standardising Excellence: Qdos Pumps and the Future of Water Equipment”. The session will provide valuable insight into how precision dosing technologies are shaping the future of water treatment in the UK.

Key topics will include:

• The role of Qdos pumps in sustainable water management
• How modular design simplifies maintenance and improves reliability
• The benefits of standardising dosing equipment for compliance and cost savings

The presentation will be particularly relevant for engineers, plant managers and procurement professionals looking to optimise system performance while meeting regulatory standards.

Supporting efficiency and sustainability in UK water treatment

“Water and wastewater operators are under increasing pressure to improve efficiency while meeting stricter environmental targets,” said Gavin MacGregor. “At WMFTS, we’re focused on helping customers simplify their dosing processes and lower operating costs, without compromising on accuracy or reliability. WES provides a valuable opportunity to demonstrate how our technologies can support more consistent, sustainable operations across a wide range of applications.”

As the UK water sector continues to prioritise sustainability, carbon reduction and operational resilience, technologies such as peristaltic pumps are playing an increasingly important role in achieving these goals.

About us

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) peristaltic tube and hose pumps meet requirements including: value for money; low cost of ownership; reliability and ease of maintenance to the food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, mining and many other industries.

We demonstrate how pumps deliver significant process efficiencies over the lifetime of the equipment. Whether performing flavouring addition in food processing, chemical metering in water treatment or mineral recovery, we have a solution which can cut pump downtime and reduce costs through higher accuracy metering and transfer. WMFTG has dedicated application engineers available to help customers make the right pump and tubing choice from a range providing microlitres per minute to 80 cubic metres per hour flow rates.

The only part of the pump to come into contact with the product is the tube or hose. This means there are no seals or valves that can wear or fail. Replacing the tube or hose can be performed quickly and safely. Peristaltic pump benefits include:

Total fluid containment with no seals No ancillaries Handle viscous and abrasive slurries and sludge Self-priming capability Dry running without damage to the pump In addition to their range of positive displacement pumps, Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group has added PTFE-lined chemical and industrial hoses to their range. Aflex hoses are reinforced to withstand the most severe conditions and use.
