SXTSC1 Silicone Force Sensor Starter Kit by Sateco – a simple way to get started with new technology

Listen to this article

Sateco XT is introducing groundbreaking technology into the market with the SXTSC1 silicone force sensor. To make it easy to get started, there is a complete starter kit that can be used to immediately experience the sensor’s functionality and benefits.

The SXTSC1 silicone force sensor functions according to the capacitive operating principle. It can continuously measure both touch and compressive force. The SXTSC1 is soft and impact-resistant, ensures reliable measurements even at extreme temperature conditions, and is suitable for many different applications such as automotive, VR, AR, gaming, robotics, medical technology, and general industry.

Its elastomer material enables high mechanical flexibility when installed, easily allows for three-dimensional design options, and is very comfortable to touch. It features unique, patented technology.

The starter kit consists of four sensors, special evaluation electronics, and a graphical user interface,” explains Dr. Daniel Häfliger, CEO of Sateco XT AG. “The software we developed in-house can record the capacitive measurement signals of the four silicone force sensors in parallel and display them on a screen,” he adds. “It enables you to directly visualize and keep track of the forces that are acting upon the silicone force sensors. The measurement data can be saved for additional purposes or processed by the associated user program via the USB interface.

This set is excellent for initial tests and for building prototypes. If desired, project-specific adjustments to the measurement range can be made by enhancing the sensor’s design. Subsequently, both the electronics and the software can be expanded upon request and used as a basis for product development. The starter kit is available at an attractive introductory price at the Sensor+Test trade fair.
