Storage and Discharge of Powders and Bulk Materials: 25 – 27 April
A basic course covering the operation, design and specifications of hoppers and silos for reliable discharge.
Venue: Chatham, Kent UK
********************
Hoppers, silos, bins and bunkers are widely used in industry for storing bulk solids materials. However, these facilities can experience operational problems – often because they have been designed without knowledge of the flow characteristics of the material to be stored. This intensive course has been specifically designed to help solve problems like these.
This short course covers:
- Basics of hopper and silo design and function
- Dealing with potential problems
- Discharge aids and interfacing to feeders
With an emphasis on practical aspects of technology, the course begins with a comprehensive introduction to give a basic understanding of the operation of hoppers and silos, before moving on to more detailed work.
Case studies are used throughout to illustrate the presentations, with plenty of discussion periods so that any specific problems experienced by attendees can be analysed.
This course is also available as an in-company course, either online or on site to suit operational requirements. Bespoke courses can be set up and tailored to specific requirements. Please call the Wolfson Centre experts to discuss.
