Make UK is excited to announce the launch of National Manufacturing Day 2025, scheduled for Thursday, 25th September. This fourth annual event will feature leading manufacturing companies across the United Kingdom opening their doors to provide a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse into the diverse and rewarding careers available in this lucrative sector of British industry.

On National Manufacturing Day, participants will have the chance to visit companies from a wide array of industries, including engineering, food and drink, aerospace, automotive, chemicals, renewables, and pharmaceuticals. Visitors will take part in hands-on workshops, discover cutting-edge technology, and engage with current employees about the exciting career progression opportunities within the manufacturing sector.

  • Over 250 businesses took part, offering interactive activities such as building model aeroplanes, designing circuit boards, 3D printing, virtual welding, and learning about the production of lifeboats from composite materials.
  • Students and visitors explored various career paths, chatted with apprentices about paid training opportunities, and gained insights into roles in marketing, research, and strategic planning that drive future innovations in manufacturing.

Those who participated in last year’s event just need to update their pledge, while first-time participants must provide some basic information, such as the company name and a contact email.
