Vertical Form Fill & Seal Specialists Announce New Machine Features At PPMA
At this year’s PPMA Total Show, vertical form fill and seal specialists Gainsborough Industrial Controls (GIC) will showcase the latest enhancements to its market-leading range of VFFS machines as the company marks ten years of successful growth under its current owners
Both the versatile GIC3000 and recently-launched GIC4100, which has been specifically designed with low maintenance and easy clean down in mind, will feature new remote access software, allowing diagnostics to be carried out and updates implemented without the need for a service visit.
The new GIC 4100 enables easy access for clean-down and maintenance in line with the requirements of high-care food manufacturing operations, and is also available in full stainless steel build specification. The intermittent full servo-driven machine can produce finished flat bags up to 400mm in size at speeds of up to 70 packs per minute.
The GIC3000 is a high speed constant motion servo machine, capable of up to 150 packs per minute, ideal for pillow pack applications in a variety of end markets including fresh produce, confectionery and snacks, creating finished flat bags up to 250mm in size.
Both machines feature GIC’s advanced maintenance-free servo technology, which delivers excellent machine reliability for low cost of ownership. A full-colour 10” HMI screen, with icon-drive messages, ensures ease of operation for fast set-up and changeovers.
In 2016, GIC is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the management buyout by owners Andy Beal and Luke Murphy. Since then the company has enjoyed consistent year-on-year growth, with a pro-active new product development programme that has led to a consistently full order book.
GIC attributes its success to the reliability and low cost of ownership of its machines, combined with unparalleled levels of after-sales and service support.
GIC has particular expertise in the fresh produce, bullion (coin), hardware, frozen foods, powders, pulses and confectionery sectors, and the in-depth knowledge and expertise of its experienced team, together with an installed base in excess of 500 machines, mean the company can tailor its equipment to the precise requirements of individual customers.
