YORKSHIRE WATER FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT IMPROVES EFFICIENCY AND REDUCES MONITORING COSTS
Yorkshire Water Services and leading analytical instrumentation manufacturer HACH LANGE signed a Framework Agreement in August 2007 and now that this has been in place for over a year, both companies are reporting significant benefits from the collaboration.
The agreement is for the design, supply, installation, training, testing and commissioning of water monitoring instrumentation for the environmental business unit, including the Solitax suspended solids sensor, the LDO dissolved oxygen probe, the Sonatax sludge level detector and associated controllers.
Rob Bainbridge, FFD Instrumentation Contract Manager at Yorkshire Water Services, explained why the agreement has been so beneficial: “We have improved efficiency because we now work with a smaller number of suppliers. This has resulted in both saved time and a reduction in maintenance, monitoring and operational costs.”
HACH LANGE’s John Moroney added: “The monitoring of suspended solids, sludge and dissolved oxygen are key to the efficient running of wastewater treatment plants. Accurate data helps to reduce costs such as treatment chemicals and energy and also improves the quality of discharge compliance monitoring.
“We have Framework Agreements in place with most of the UK”s water Companies and the benefits that Yorkshire Water Services experience are typical of this type of agreement.”
