With its new product series, valve specialist GEMÜ is introducing widespread innovations that meet the demands of process automation in the age of today.
The company is introducing a product family with advanced products under the title LEAP – Lean. Effective. Agile. Platformised. – that combines modular design with high flexibility and which is manufactured by the latest production methods.
Two valves and a new-generation position indicator are the first components of this new product family to be introduced as having been developed to boost process efficiency and security.
GEMÜ P40: Efficient tank bottom valve for sterile applications
The GEMÜ P40 is an innovative tank bottom valve designed for application in sterile process environments. It continues to expand GEMÜ's successful Plug Diaphragm (PD) technology using a radially sealing PTFE diaphragm, which ensures hermetic separation between the actuator and medium.
Its specially developed design reduces the risk of contamination to a minimum, excludes sedimentation and facilitates easy cleaning. Valve body and diaphragm are precisely matched to yield best performance in open and closed positions.
The patented PD diaphragm's dynamic pretension, designed particularly for tank bottom valves, also makes low-maintenance operation possible.
GEMÜ S40: Globally adjustable globe valve for industry
GEMÜ's new S40 globe valve is notable for its high level of variation and long lifespan. Assembly and maintenance time is saved through standardised construction principles, central union nut and top-mounted air connections.
Industry-usage oriented, the valve features fast replacement of wear components such as seal packing, spindle, seat seal and sealing washer. The integral anti-rotation lock simplifies replacement of the spindle and the robust build and high-precision geometry of the valve guarantee process reliability.
A sight glass on the top of the position indicator protects against contamination with dust and cleaning chemicals. Actuators are applicable in downward compatibility to retrofit existing systems.
GEMÜ 12A0: Intelligent position indicator for demanding environments
One of the main elements of the new portfolio is the GEMÜ 12A0 – an intelligent electronic pneumatic process valve position indicator. It features modern communication interfaces like ASi-5 and IO-Link.
With the assistance of contactless Hall sensors for position determination, the GEMÜ 12A0 offers precise, wear-free control for top-of-the-line automation systems. Autonomous module initialisation is a highlight as an easy setup and service feature.
On-board sensor technology is able to perform extensive condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. By monitoring parameters such as temperature, humidity and operating pressure, unforeseen system downtime can be prevented.
