Fluid Power Products & Process Systems Distributor Appoints Fluid Handling Manager

The UK”s biggest distributor of fluid power products and process systems, Thorite, has appointed Chris Soulsby (37) to the position of Fluid Handling Manager.

Chris brings in-depth experience of specialist pump applications and sales to this important new position, with over 20 years spent working for some of the world”s leading pump manufacturers. These include Lowara and Calpeda in the UK, plus industrial pump supply company Pump Engineers in Melbourne, Australia.

Chris will now use his specialist skills to provide Thorite”s customers with technical advice on systems applications requiring pump and fluid control technology, utilising advanced products from companies including Ingersoll Rand (ARO), Graco and Burkert.

Speaking of his new role Chris said:

“I”m very much looking forward to utilising my knowledge and experience to develop and broaden Thorite”s current penetration of the fluid handling market.

Thorite are experts in pneumatics and compressed air technology and many fluid handling systems are pneumatically controlled, so it makes real sense for Thorite”s customers to talk to us about their individual fluid handling applications – and be confident that we can provide comprehensive, cost effective solutions.

I hope to achieve this by working closely with the Sales Team and the staff based in Thorite”s regional network of ten Sales & Service Centres, providing technical support for all their pump and process requirements, plus bringing new products, solutions and services to the company”s existing and future customers.”

Chris will be based at Thorite”s Bradford Head Office. He is married and lives in Upton near Pontefract. When not immersed in the complexities of pumps and the process market his leisure activities are centred on his two children, rugby league, snowboarding and park running.
