Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions to Showcase Sustainable Solutions at INTERPHEX 2025

Listen to this article

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS) will debut its new WMArchitect Interchangeable Parts service and emphasize sustainability benefits from technology innovation in BioClamp manufacturing at stand 2753 at INTERPHEX 2025, 1st-3rd April at the Javits Centre, New York City, USA.

With the release of the WMArchitect™ single-use solutions portfolio last year at INTERPHEX, the Interchangeable Parts service allows users to reduce single-use component supply limitations by incorporating pre-qualified, alternative components into their single-use assemblies.

This increase in supply flexibility eliminates regulatory compliance interruption when component availability is impacted. The flexible service also prevents the risks of low stock levels and potential production shutdowns, without precluding the avoidance of last-minute substitute part evaluation in deadline situations. Designed per industry working group consensus on interchangeability, the service is best practice compliant.

The single-use BioClamp® has also been redesigned in terms of form and manufacturing process. Visitors to the WMFTS stand can learn how the BioClamp is now 13% lighter than its original counterpart and offers a 22% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions across the entire lifecycle of the product.

BioClamp is just one of a range of innovative solutions WMFTS provides to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, including specialist services, peristaltic pumps, tubing, assemblies, and valves.

Sade Mokuolu, Regional Business Development Manager, Americas Division, Life Sciences, stated

Our exhibit will showcase how we offer solutions outside of the pump to life sciences companies, including expertise, validation services, components, tubing, assemblies, and sustainability benefits. Advances in BioClamp manufacturing have resulted in a 13% weight reduction compared to the previous model, as well as an advanced computer-automated manufacturing process that has minimized carbon dioxide emissions by 22% over the product's life.”.

Visitors to the WMFTS stand may also view what WMArchitect single-use solutions can provide, an end-to-end biopharmaceutical fluid management solution from a single source, such as our new Interchangeable Parts service.

WMArchitect is designed to provide standard, off-the-shelf ready-to-use single-use assemblies and custom designs with full support from bespoke validation packages and now even greater flexibility with our Interchangeable Parts service.

“Our peristaltic pumps and complementary fluid path solutions are well known in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Attendees at our booth at INTERPHEX will be able to experience our solutions for upstream, downstream, and final fill/finish applications, including the Flexicon FPC60, a fully automatic fill/finish small-batch aseptic system.”.

WMFTS life science experts will be present to advise on overcoming repeated issues in fluid transfer applications, process stability, and end product quality with compliance ensured.”

Visit WMFTS at stand 2753 at INTERPHEX 2025 to discover more about its next-generation fluid management solutions for life sciences applications.

About us

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) peristaltic tube and hose pumps meet requirements including: value for money; low cost of ownership; reliability and ease of maintenance to the food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, mining and many other industries.

We demonstrate how pumps deliver significant process efficiencies over the lifetime of the equipment. Whether performing flavouring addition in food processing, chemical metering in water treatment or mineral recovery, we have a solution which can cut pump downtime and reduce costs through higher accuracy metering and transfer. WMFTG has dedicated application engineers available to help customers make the right pump and tubing choice from a range providing microlitres per minute to 80 cubic metres per hour flow rates.

The only part of the pump to come into contact with the product is the tube or hose. This means there are no seals or valves that can wear or fail. Replacing the tube or hose can be performed quickly and safely. Peristaltic pump benefits include:

Total fluid containment with no seals No ancillaries Handle viscous and abrasive slurries and sludge Self-priming capability Dry running without damage to the pump In addition to their range of positive displacement pumps, Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group has added PTFE-lined chemical and industrial hoses to their range. Aflex hoses are reinforced to withstand the most severe conditions and use.
